Many programmers do not have the ability to Smalltalk. Smalltalk is an extremely valuable skill which can be important to the programming industry. In the 1980s, Smalltalk was introduced to many programmers as a new tool under their belt they should use. Smalltalk depends on sending messages to other objects such as people. Every object (person) can choose what to do based on what message you send it. An example would be
Ashley talk: 'Hello!'.
Sadly, at some point in the 90's or early 2000's, people stopped doing Smalltalk, in favor of C++ because many programmers were deemed anti-social and unfit for Smalltalk.
