candy sky.

it was bright out, even though it was night. probably because of the gibbous moon. maybe im crazy, but the moon looked like it had a pink tint to it. like a strawberry macaron, with only a little bite taken from it. scattered cookie crumb stars surrounded the almost-circle moon. i couldn't help but stare at the sky. insects fluttered past my skyward face on nearly invisible wings. they flew through a sweet breeze i could smell in the air. i didn't realize i was walking in a different direction, until my family called me to them. they didn't know what i was doing. i kept my eyes upturned as we walked. the sky was really pretty and the moon was really pink. maybe i should pay more attention. i was in a parking lot. but no one else was there and im fine. how often is the night sky so bright? who would choose to look ahead instead of up, at the gold-blue-purple candy sky? someone with a sensible mind, i suppose. white moths headed upward and became stars, became vanilla drops and then a reflection in my eye. somehow, my mouth tastes something sweet.
