heads bowed sullen,
cut off in their blooming prime
their fleeting glory
an untimely end - like you
missing the vibrance of new beginnings
the warmth of spring sunshine
rebirth and birdsong
raindrops fall like tears
as if to signify this poignant time
of missing you, too
