nowadays the few arcades that still exist near me just have shitty claw games that swallow money. unfortunately, these make the most money. i went to an arcade in liverpool recently and it was SO refreshing to play actual games (guitar hero, ddr, taiko no tatsujin!!) tbh it was my first time playing a tnt arcade and it was SO . COOL !!
but arcades are being phased out and i dont understand why. like yeah, theres home console gaming. but theres only so much you can do with one controller. so then its like, why dont i just buy my own arcades?
well... im not rich. for one of the more recent arcade cabs ur can cost upwards of 5k. for the older ones, 2k or 3k usually. i DO NOT have that much money (even though i wish i did)

AGHH I KNOW HOW U FEEL BROTHER. PERSONALLY IVE NEVER REALLY BEEN TO A "MODERN" ARCADE OTHER THAN THOSE SHITTY ONES IN MALLS. THE ARCADE I USUALLY GO TO HAS SOME MODERN GAMES (WHICH I DO NOT CARE FOR AND I THINK IT RUINS THE UNDERGROUND VIBE SINCE THE ARCADE IS LITERALLY UNDERGROUND, BUT THE PRETTY LIGHTS ARE GREAT!) BUT IT HAS SOME GOOD OL GUITAR HERO, VARIOUS PINBALL MACHINES, SKEE-BALL AND MY PERSONAL FAVORITE: GALAGA! HAVE A NICE DAY/NIGHT - Mr.Kev
YES THANK U MR KEV!!!!!! in the end its abt making money which is rly unfortunate. its my dream one day to go to one of the big sega arcades in japan but.... money... ;_; why cant everything be free!!!!
