I'm getting some practice in every day, and it does help, but I still feel like I could be doing better.
if you're reading this and play guitar, what helped you? also I'm thinking of picking up bass. my mom keeps recommending it to me whenever I whine about guitar. not that I think it's easier but it does seem sorta cool, lol.
otherwise life is fine. gonna see a REALLY good band live on the 3rd and then an even better rapper on the 30th. I really wanna see joker out as well, but I really don't know if I can scrounge up the money to go to slovenia this summer. lol. don't get a retail job, guys!
I should be writing my essay... I still have two assignments to hand in, even though school is technically over. I'm sooooooo tired!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! for REAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
for now I think I'm gonna go watch a documentary or two and practice some more, though. I might post some of my playing once I get good enough to not die in a hole at the sound of it. we'll see.
see you :)

Learn songs that you like!!!!
You wont learn faster but you will enjoy it more.
I remember when I started out I learned the riff to a song and every once and a while I would go back to practice it. I saw a recording of me doing for one of the first times and I noticed how scuffed it was and that I could play it wayyyyy better.
I also noticed that songs that seemed difficult werent as difficult.
so pretty much just play more :]

hi!! i've been playing guitar for 5 years, wouldn't call myself a pro or anything i'm actually like super mediocre but recording my own music really helped me! everything i’ve put out was made in garageband- w/ my laptop mic, a casio keyboard, a USB instrument cord, my guitar. it was all pretty shit but hearing YOUR music played back to you is like, super, super rewarding. just being able to chill and come up with riffs helped me learn so much, LET YOURSELF BE BAD!! i can't stress it enough!! it's all about fun, art is a human necessity, the good stuff will come later. joining bands and other kinds of musical social groups also helped me a lot as well, but i understand that's not accessible to everyone. i just have fun. i play around with everything, listen to my smart music friends talk about production stuff, look at basic tutorials. gather small bits of info when i can, but have fun and explore for myself and don’t rly worry about what it sounds like. you'll get there, sorry this is a crap answer!! good luck!!!!!

i'd recommend looking into a DAW (digital audio workspace) then. i use a cracked version of FL studio, but bandlab is a free online one that i thought was super beginner friendly. and honestly being shitty is rad, i think that's like the whole appeal of garage bands
