ikebukuro west gate park (2000)

I started watching IWGP like a couple days ago and its so fucking good. I think I'm on like episode 5.

To summarize, it's a 12 episode 2000's Japanese drama/comedy about some young dirtbags in the Ikebukuro area of Tokyo. Specifically the area where there's a lot of night life and low level crime, but also serious prostitution, yakuza activity, and more, going on behind closed doors.

Although the show deals with serious topics and some episodes are kind of heavy, for the most part it's actually really funny and one of the most entertaining shows I've watched in a while. There's a good amount of action, not too much not too little. And again they do such a good job of balancing the heavy subject matter with really funny characters. So far it's made me laugh my ass off and shed a couple tears.

Lately, I've been looking forward to watching a new episode every night! Having something to look forward too and get excited over really makes me happy.
