Sorry for the lazy entry yesterday, I was pretty out of it since I smashed my head into some reef after a failed wave. But besides that, today I woke up at a normal time and did my usual routine (small breakfast and then head to the beach).
On my way there, I noticed a new billboard that promoted some type of candidate for next year's presidency. I wasn't sure who it was or what they were gonna so I didn't really pay much attention to it. When you're a surfer, politics don't really matter. The only thing that matters when you're in the water is the connection to the ocean and the friendships you hold with your friends (Justin Housman, "Splitting The Political Peak," Surfer, last modified March 11, 2017, https://www.surfer.com/blogs/splitting-political-peak.).
After a decent session, I decided to head over to my friend's house, they were hosting a bonfire for the crew. Once I got there, my whole headache went away and I had a great time. Being around all of my friends always brings my spirits up. We're all so close so we can tell each other how we feel and what we're going through. I think that's what I love most about surfing other than being in the water, the friendships that bloom are unmatched.
