I'm now officially a member of the Civil Air Patrol! My paperwork was processed, and I've got my new ID number and everything. Next steps are to get my uniform, take a photo for my ID card, and start figuring out how to use our platform... Then training! I'm so excited.
I'm happy to do whatever I need to do in order to work my way up to the big missions. Typically it takes a minimum of 2 years of training before I'd get to go on big-deal missions. But everything else along the way is super fun to me as well!
I'm not a huge fan of our summers here where I live, so I'm hoping that at least some of the training will be indoors. There's some mandatory SAR (search and rescue) training, and an optional water safety training if you wanna be qualified for Coast Guard missions. God, I'd love that... But water just scares me.
Anyways, I'm finally catching up on my university work! And a pretty major family emergency situation got cleared up this morning, so that's a relief. I'm excited to finally fly again this Friday, too. After being sick for so long, I can't wait to finally feel that freedom again.
