Selamat pagii!!! I'm thinking a lot lately about shows I watched when I was younger... ♡( ◡‿◡ )

My first anime, actually, was Keroro Gunsou, or Sergeant Frog!! A slice-of-life comedy about a platoon of frog aliens trapped on Earth with a human family. It was way back when Netflix and Youtube were on the Wii..

it's weird, I watched it on a whim when I was only 7 or 8... and I loved it so much that I made it my whole personality! (๑•̀ㅂ•́)و✧ I would act like an alien dead set on world destruction as a kid... some people actually bought it, somehow! Σ(´∀｀；) Keroro reminds me a little of myself back then, he tried so hard to act like a horrifying and powerful alien but he was just a cute frog who liked gundam and snacks!
I guess I was a little like Squid Girl, I think it's called? it has a similar premise. It's a slice of life, but a little squid girl comes to the surface and wants to conquer earth... but instead they make her work at their restaurant, and she complains the whole time...   ε=ε=ε=ε=┌(;￣◇￣)┘

ANYWAYS!!! I rediscovered again the Pekopon Shinryaku Ondo and it made me so nostalgic... I like songs that are an ondo a lot, and this was the ending song for earlier in the season. Actually, I only like the early seasons... because those were the ones on Netflix! I can see them through a rose-colored lens... (✿◡‿◡) but, actually, the show isn't a work of art. (´-﹏-`；)

back when I was a little kid, my cousin and I would stay at our grandparents house on the weekends. So, during then, I got my younger cousin into Keroro, too... \( ˙▿˙ )/\( ˙▿˙ )/ We would watch it on our family computer downstairs (on bad clips on Youtube!), and then afterwards, we would pretend we were aliens! ┌∩┐(◣_◢)┌∩┐ This went on so long, and we hardly broke character... During dinner, first thing when we woke up, even when we went out... WE WERE COMMITTED! (； ･`д･´) I think, in that way, that's why I prefer the slice-of-life aspects of Keroro Gunsou. The parts where they're trapped on Earth and go about normal, everyday life in a human household were always more charming for me!! and, alien frogs have the same autonomy as a little kid, I guess.. (－－〆)

At some point, we went on a road trip with our grandparents that we'd do every time the warm months came around. I MISS THAT, ACTUALLY!!! ( 〃▽〃) But, anyway, there isn't much to do in the car.. I brought my DS, but the sun makes it hard to see the screen, and all the voice message you make come out garbled and horrible. (눈_눈) so, what do we do...? Act like alien frogs... of course... gero gero...

When the sun went down, we would look out the car window at the stars and have deep conversations about whether aliens really existed. I still believe it! It was silly to be alone anyway. (*￣▽￣)b Who knows, maybe I'm one...

I don't remember a lot from our road trips, but I remember, we stopped inside a fast food store just before the sun came up, and our grandma let us play on her phone since she didn't need the GPS. well... we put on the Keroro Ondo! ヾ(=`ω´=)ノ” I still know all the lyrics by heart to this day... We sang so loudly, I wish I had that much confidence at this age. (๑•ૅㅁ•๑) After that, we stopped by a strange relative's house that was on the way, and we pretended we were frogs... AGAIN!! Something you should know about young Pocchi... she developed a dire habit of going ’ケロケロケロケロ’ , even up to age 10... 𓆏 It wasn't just the monotonous chant they did in the show, either! I would hum it to myself, I'd exclaim it when I got scared, I'd punctuate every sentence with it... m(_ _;)m So, I was going around this strange house making frog sounds all day.. My cousin always wanted to be Giroro, so sometimes he did a ギロギロ. ←~(Ψ▼ｰ▼)∈

I don't remember a lot from vacation, just all the weird places we would play together and pretend to be frogs at... σ(￣、￣〃) Once we did it on a jetty, and there was another time at the beach where I walked on my heels so that people would see the footprints and think a Keronian had visited... at some point, we did it while a small typhoon or tornado hit the home we were staying in while we were swimming in the ocean outside, but, that's a story for another time!! ＼(º □ º l|l)/
