new crt!!

hi yall!!

im currently writing this blog post on the newest addition to my crt collection- a dell from 2001! the native resolution of the screen is 1280x1024, and it's refresh rate is 85hz (which is faster than my main monitor which is a dell flatscreen from 2009 LOL)

i picked it up off facebook marketplace for $5! a steal!! i'm currently using it as my secondary monitor now. maybe one day i'll post my full crt collection.

here's some pictures:

i bought an old imac g3 on eBay for about $80. its the blueberry colour one from '99 and it has a 1024x768 crt screen that refreshes at around 80 hz

ehh not really. it doesnt have a floppy diskette drive and no ps/2 ports. only a cd burner, usb drives, a 33.6k modem port, ethernet port, and firewire.

I never go on eBay. The CRTs there are always broken.

from what ive heard they can arrive broken due to shipping so it's always better to find one in your area and pick it up yourself

I probally should buy a CRT. I remember when I was 6 my dad bought a CRT to put in my room. I turned it on to see if i could get any channels. For some reason I was scared of the static. So I yanked the cord out of the wall. And guess what? It woulden't even turn on. So my dad just threw it away. The end

my local thrift stores have crt monitors and tvs, but they are too expensive, and one of them has a broken tube that looks like it was smashed with a hammer, but they sold it for at least $70 becuz it was "rare".

lmaoo, yeah lol unless it's a sony trinitron crt or something that has an insanely high resolution/refresh rate it's not worth paying over $20 for (unless there's not many in your area)
