Apocalypse!stuck (abandonded teehee)

The thick stench of rotting corpses filled the woods, any passer-by would simply shrivel in it’s disgusting mix of musk, rot and sanctity. There wouldn’t be any on-lookers aside from the four who stood burning the large pile, seven months. It took the first four of them to come to terms with the sick not getting better, trips into town became scarce during the 6th. The infected were slower sure but the numbers were massive and unavoidable no matter how fast you ran and on the seventh the bodies started getting us sick, nothing like they were but sick enough to force them into making more trips despite the danger. If they were going to die they may as well go down with a fight, four young adults in one dingy ass truck. One of them paler then the snow, more so than usual. Slowly but quicker than any walk they made their way out of the lot, taking shelter in some barn house just outside of town. The dark haired boy opened the glove box and filled it with a few things some bandages, water and Tissues to stifle the sickly blonde, The ride was eerily silent. Not much to talk about these days, in some way this trip would be the talk of the town for the next couple months more than they knew. The ride was about half an hour, riding on just enough gas to make it there and back. Trees on endless trees followed by road on endless road , only the cherry of the agony sundae that is a trip into the suburbia let alone downtown. Driving at a steady pace, not to slow and not to fast to minimalize any sound from the vehicle. The two others looked over the map, one waiting for the car to slow before getting out with her rifle and a bat. Guns are easy to use and easy to get you killed but always good to keep on hand , always with one extra bullet. Four in her case, she wouldn't dare catch herself or her friends in such a state. the other's continued on their steady drive while the rifle bearing young lady surveyed the area, it being calm here meant it was only a mine field the deeper you go. A small opportunity to check out houses they hadn't before, looking for whatever was least damaged or a a second floor. Clearing out the small bits of broken glass to a shattered window she hiked up her skirt and stepped in, The house was silent. The electricity had shut off a month ago and the water was soon to follow, the table was full of more than rotting milk and cereal. The body on the table slumped over, pills and a bottle of gin laid out beside it all. A disturbing site but not one she hadn't seen before, Gagging more over the food than the body, making way past the poor site she eyed over the items in the living room. Listening for any suspicious movement in the rooms around, Placing her hand against the bathroom door and jiggling it a bit. nothing Jiggled back, typically a good sign. Opening the door carefully and making sure nothing was there, rummaging through the items that were left in the bathroom. cough syrup, enough for a dose maybe two if it was stretched at it was better than nothing in case, looking over the expiry which was obviously going to be off. At least a month, it was harder to see small letters now a days especially after her glasses had shattered. Shoving them into the large pockets that came with her skirt, something she was always fond of and remarkably so during the current events.  Stepping out of the bathroom she headed up the stairs. Hitting the top step a hand grabbed onto her, both of them tumbling down the stairs for a moment, the wet sound of rotted body hit the wood steps as it's flesh flew across the air before the Jade eyed gentlewoman picked herself up and used her heavy sole shoes and bat to bash in its head. The blood soaked  blonde hair on the Cadaver sent shivers down her spine, Reminding her of her sickly friend and the idea of loosing them. She shook it off, continuing the trip upstairs and checking the upper as she had the below.  Another set of luck that was sure to run out eventually, on the other side of things back in the car the three of them were just a bit further down the street. It was already clear the danger up ahead just from the way the numbers picked up. Putting the car in reverse and pulling back down the street and into one of the many abandoned driveways, The blonde haired woman often referred to as Lalonde turned off the car and stepped out. Leaving her other two companions in the vehicle before moving to the back and opening up the trunk, inside were a few tools and makeshift weapons. She grabbed a pair of mended together knitting needles, in any normal situation this would be insane but for the time being it was quite the useful creation  Briskly making her way to Harley, First name Jade. Her and Lalonde also called Rose were often  the ones to scope out the area but the action was as crucial as ever now that her friend was unwell, Stepping in to the same home Jade was in. Rose paid no mind to the bodies decorating the home, stepping up the stairs. She'd place a soft hand on Jade's shoulder, one Both had become accustomed  to as a form of signal to the other.  "Hey"  Jade placed her hand overtop hers. "Hey" She returned the greeting, The two covered any rooms that were left. John, their driver watched in worry through the rearview mirror as the fourth, Dave Shifted restlessly in the back seat. His focus was shifted as both ladies got back into the vehicle, turning back on the car and moving their parking over to the cleared home. Quickly the three got out, carefully picking up their sick friend and bringing him to the second floor. Here they'd Place him in a bedroom that more than likely belonged to a young child or two, placing Dave in a bunkbed before they went about their plan. Rose would stay with David, Crafting up a makeshift rope out of sheets all while Jade and John pushed the dresser out into the hall. Braiding the spare sheet and ripped clothing around her into a thick piece before tying that to the bed frame, tossing it out the window to check its length. Just enough that she could make the rest of the hop and still climb back up, turning to check on john and jade they had successfully gotten the furniture in front of the entrance to the room. Now having a sufficient blockage between anything coming in Rose closed the door, turning to Dave who was basically hibernating this entire time to be able to do one thing. As John and Jade left the house, rose climbed down the rope before looking back up to confirm that Dave had pulled said rope back up. Once he had, the three of them set off.
