It’s wild to think about it in this regard, but just sitting here on a MySpace clone website reminds me of a time where the internet didn’t absolutely rule and dictate all of our day to day goings on. You can’t even find the log out button today’s social media. We’re meant to be plugged in to the “Metaverse” (F*%k Facebook and Meta) at all times.
Idk about you, but I can clearly remember how refreshing it felt to get messages and scroll through the browse page back then. We didn’t have a timeline. We didn’t have constant news and information being shoved down our mouth holes every waking moment. I always walked away from my computer/laptop in relative peace after sending messages to people I knew. We spent time updating our profiles, adding our personal touches, our own music, our interests, the things that made us unique. All social media has evolved into today is a glorified pissing contest. Our biggest beef in 2000’s was who was on our top 5 and top 10 friends list. It was so simple. So beautiful. This has definitely made me rekindle the little bit of joy I have on the World Wide Web.

Wow . Reading this just blows my mind at how right you are ! How our biggest problem was who was on our top friends. The time spent customizing our profiles and playlists. I remember people doing the Surveys on the bulletin boards. It was such a simple time . There was Ad's All over . I miss those days. This is an eye opener.
It was a beautiful time where self expression was still at the forefront. I’ve been on here for two hours peacefully reading and waiting to finally communicate in a way that doesn’t seem so bogged down by expectation.
