KV-1 Model

So spacehey seems pretty neat. A throwback to myspace (although I never actually touched myspace) and early 2000s web nostalgia in general.

Since this place seems relatively new and ya'll seem chill, why not share something pretty cool i'm working on?

On the rare occasion that I feel productive, I do some cool stuff. Last month,  I coughed up a (totally legal) python script that downloads entire linkedin learning courses as a series of mp4 files. So today, I have to present to you a little modelling project i've been on and off on: the soviet KV-1 with the ZiS-5 cannon turret.

The front of the hull and turret. I tried to keep the geometry as simple as possible. The front of the hull and turret. I tried to keep the geometry as simple as possible.

Overall I think it's coming out pretty good so far!Overall I think it's coming out pretty good so far!

Feel free to criticize me (considering i've only been seriously using blender for about a month or two now). I'm quite proud of my beautiful creation so far, and I hope you are too!!!

Just hope that I actually decide to finish it lol.

A bit of history: the Kliment Voroshilov tank (named after the soviet officer) started it's service in 1939, and got to experience Operation Barbarossa in 1941, where it aided the red army in pushing back the Germans. The tanks had armor that was almost impenetrable by most axis tanks at the time. However, they were prone to flanks due to their slow speed and vulnerable rears. It was also very heavy, weighing at 45 tons. The KV tanks had their strengths in firepower and armor, but lacked in mobility and ergonomics, making it a chore for crews to handle. They were succeeded by the Iosef Stalin (IS) series tanks, which included greater firepower and armor, but lacked the speed similar to the KVs.
