on moving cities

context: i just moved cities (3 hours away!) for work, so this is gonna be my new home for the next 4 months. i'm in a co-op uni program, so i'll pretty much be moving somewhere new every 4 months for the next 4 years. 

it's lonely yet freeing, because on one hand, no one knows you or your story! yippee! i can finally start over! but on the other hand, it's like: no one knows you or your story :( and the worst part of all-- no one cares to know either. 

i miss seeing my friends, going to familiar places in the city i grew up in, and knowing that my support network is minutes away if i need them. i miss visiting the same old cafes, skateboarding down the same old sidewalks, and going to classes at the same old uni. 

i don't know if i'll make friends in this tiny town, and by god, the loneliness is just about killing me. maybe that's why i made this account-- to make more friends who i can talk to daily and see what they're up to. 

even though the internet is a cold, ruthless place sometimes, it can also be a warm community filled with like-minded people that become good friends.
