My writing but I did it a 4th time

More of my writing. I know these probably aren’t getting much attention lol. Still feels good to share my writing.

Fear gripped onto Gray, having his body shake from more than just the cold. He had desperately wanted to run, but there was no way he could run and look for help, even if he did take his car it would be impossible to drive in this snow. He inched for his phone in his pocket and stared at it, feeling petrified as he saw that his internet had cut out during the storm. He had to do something. His hands shook as he slowly looked for something, anything to help protect himself.

His body traveled back to the fireplace, hands gliding to the fire poker. He held it firm in his hands, fear still slightly stealing his movements, making each step he takes toward the noise achingly slow. He found that the noise was coming from the kitchen. The sounds were still persistent, having only the small noises of footsteps and the sounds of something slowly dripping on the floor. Gray gripped the fire poker tighter, trying to gather enough courage to face the intruder. He held the weapon until his knuckles turned white and his hand burned. He finally gathered the courage that he needed and took a deep breath. His body moved slowly, only leaning over enough to look into the kitchen and see what was there.

Gray's hand flew to his mouth, trying to muffle the gasp that came to him as he saw what loomed in the kitchen.

He saw wings unfolded, a body that could barely be distinguished from the darkness surrounding it. Bright yellow eyes shown hauntingly in the dark, belonging to a figure that was easily seven feet tall. It had hunched on the ground, its claws gripping some type of bag, forcing food into its fanged mouth and chewing loudly. The only type of light present was the light that had come from the window, the moon shining on the creature, and its bright eyes.

Gray stared dumbfounded, not believing what was in front of him. He then flinched as the creature stood almost to its full height, having to lean over slightly so its head didn't hit the ceiling. It had walked strangely over to the pantry, rummaging through the food and grabbed another bag of what seemed like chips. It hastily opened the bag and stuffed its face again. Gray decided that there was no way he could possibly defend himself against that thing, so he had slowly begun to back up, before one of the floor boards had suddenly let out a small creek, making the creature become suddenly very still. A small sound of fear had escaped him before he could cover his mouth, and the damage had been done.

Its head quickly snapped to where Gray stood and before he could even let out a scream the creature had jumped on top of him, knocking the air out of Gray.

The weight of this beast on top of him, its breath heavy on his face. The eyes stared deep into his as a low growl escapes the creature. With the creature so close, Gray could make out some of its appearance, which was almost human-like. Even though its eyes looked more like a cat's eyes than a humans the rest of the body looked remotely humanoid with some sort of mixture of bird. Its skin had pitch black feathers on top of it, covering the color from sight. The feathers were slightly pricked up, like when a cat's fur would stand on its end. For some reason, this observation had only made him even more fearful.

Gray had tried to swing at the creature as a final attempt to fight for his life, but his arms had been firmly pinned to the ground. Finally he had found his voice and decided to scream at the beast looming over him.

“GET OFF OF ME!”

Tears had started to prick at Gray's eyes, he knew that no matter how loud he had screamed it would be impossible for anyone to hear. He feared that this is where he would die, eaten alive by a cryptid with no one around. No one came to save him. A cold end. As the tears leaked and stuck to his face he had stopped fighting and his body had begun to relax, hands let go of the fire poker and let it fall to the floor with a clink. Everything was still. Gray waited for the end.
