The idea of 'self-improvement'

Someone very important once told me (a few days ago)

Girlie, you are always imagining that once you get this specific thing (clothes, artistic goal, friendship) that you'll become this idealised version of yourself that you hold to a high standard and that others will praise you for it and see the 'true' version of you

Instead - accept who you are  

Because you'll never find yourself if you're trying to find yourself for others 

In the act of being your authentic self, you'll find out who you are
