End Times

Acid rains down and hits the bull in the eye

But in the window to its soul,
is more acid in the sky

Chemical reaction, nuclear explosion

The sign of end times is already in motion

Tectonic shifts, a dragon’s burnt kiss

Molten lava coats the lining of our lungs and our lips

Rumbling in our throats, the venom's strike won’t miss

Gargling fury, a “genetic glitch”

Hold us in line so we won’t twitch

They keep trying to lynch this wild witch

But we die and we rise, so that we can exist

To push forth and persist

With an earth-quaking twist

Rotating domination

Orbiting hope and liberation

Celestial revolutions, all for us, all for this

Claws in the cause, battle scars in dermis

They think they’ll live forever but it’s dark by six

The Sun is eaten up as they’re clinging to the cliff

I step on their tips

So let go, don't resist

Spin down and succumb to your Black Hole abyss.

I find the wording of your poetry to be so beautiful.

This specific line really stuck with me:
“They think they’ll live forever but it’s dark by six
The Sun is eaten up as they’re clinging to the cliff”

There’s a darkness and and innocence intertwined in those lines. Something about it evoked a memory of my childhood and running barefoot on the grass as dusk crept up on my friends and I, laughing without a care in the world but conscious that the day would be ending for us soon.

I really look forward to reading more of your poetries and thoughts!
