Over the last few months I played fire emblem for the first time and it sure was a journey. I realized I didn't like the game's story THAT MUCH when I was like... 50 hours in? so I'm just gonna leave my thoughts on the routes
Birthright
It's the first route I played, I think it was a good first impression, I liked the Hoshidian siblings's designs and their struggles with corrin's kidnapping and their father's death. I thought the maps were pretty okay and I finished it in 19 hours. In this route I was a male avatar and I married Reina
Conquest
holy shit this was good, with this I realized birthright kinda sucked in the writing and I thought It was a more rewarding story, the maps got really creative on this one! I knew more about the tactics and the weapon triangle so I finished it pretty quickly, I played with the female avatar and married Niles. In this route I started thinking. "hey, corrin's pretty dumb arent they? " and I figured it all out in....
Revelations
man this sucked. I was kinda excited getting into it cause it's the true ending and valla and my brothers were together but yeah, after 40 hours of playing with the same maps over and over again until you get into valla it gets boring. then the whole gunter thing happens literally said to my 3ds "oh god you really ARE stupid" And Idk if I did things wrong but the supports advanced really slowly even though I paired them up so yeah, I put some cheats and married the hoshidians and the nohrians just for fun and I married ryoma (sorry) and the "in case of incest" letter that mitoko left is so funny for no reason.

i used to be so obsessed with fire emblem in middle school but looking back at it, it wasn't really THAT amazing but it had its charm!
the only game from the Fates series i played was Conquest and to this day I think the story line was more solid and engaging than the others. I've also played Awakening, Echoes, and a little bit of Three Houses. Echoes is amazing though. The artwork, story, and music bring it together.
