The Beast Of Bray Road

This is one that I have been pretty hesitant to dig into, because when I hear "werewolf", it's easy to brush it off as nonsense.  However, with this creature, there seems to possibly be something here.

The first sighting of the beast happened back in 1936.  A night watchmen at the St. Coletta School for Exceptional Children, Mark Shackleman, was patrolling the grounds of the school when he saw something digging in the ground.  As he approached, he says the creature rose to stand on two legs.  Mark described this creature as being wolf-like, standing about 6 feet tall, and smelling like rotting meat.  The creature let out a low growl before it turned and fled into this forest

The next night, while on his patrol, Mark once again saw the creature, digging in the same spot.  This time, he says that it snarled its lip at him, showing off his huge fangs, but ultimately retreated back into the forest.  Mark never saw the creature again.

However, a string of sightings in the 1980's would bring the legend back to life.  There were claims of the beast injuring farm animals, sightings along side roadways, and even one claim of a girl being chased through the forest.

Then, in 1999, a woman was driving her car when she says he hit something.  Concerned, she stopped the car and got out to investigate, and while nothing was in the road, she saw something on the side of the road.  It was the beast, standing on two legs.  She fled back to her car and attempted to speed away, but the beast lunged at her, jumping on to her trunk, but eventually sliding off.

This cryptid is so intriguing to me, especially with the close resemblance to the Michigan Dogman, which is in the neighboring state.
