I had an idea to paint on leather jackets and then sell them.
For now I've only painted this one that I keeping for myself. I was inspired by my favorite song - New Millenium Cyanide Christ, by Meshuggah. I wanted to show this half human, half machine being from the song beckoning us to follow in his steps. The fractal design in the background is just for fun but also I think it illustrates dissolution, you have to dissolve yourself and destroy what you used to be before you can rebuild yourself to be better. The fractal is called Cantor's dust. I just love fractals.
On the shoulder of the jacket I also drew a symbol of an eye.
I used leather paint to paint the design. The quality of the paint is amazing, the design looks as if it was printed onto the leather. Leather paint is expensive but if you ever want to paint something on leather I would really advise spending extra money on leather paint instead of trying to use acrylic paint.
