Chucky movie ratings !!

Back in 2022 I ranted about my opinions on the chucky movies when it was my hyperfixation in a discord server and I thought I’d add them here incase anyone wants to hear them! Tbh some of my opinions may have changed but I’m too lazy to change them.

Ok so, im gonna list the movies and the best ones, i also think of them in like, phases. theres like 3 phases. the first one is like three horrors, it goes:

phase one: (the slasher horrors)

1. childs play (1988)

2. childs play 2 (1990)

3. childs play 3 (1991)

phase two: comedy horrors

4. bride of chucky (1998)

5. seed of chucky (2004)

phase three: horrors again but more modern

6. curse of chucky (2013)

7. cult of chucky (2017)

and then theres childs play (2019) but i haven’t watched it bc its absolute garbadge they make chucky a robot doll that just goes wrong like fnaf like bro, no thank u

and thennn my ratings are 

1. childs play (1988)

this is my fav bc its: the original, i love classic slasher movies theyre so fucking good, great world building our first intro to chucky, charles lee ray and andy so !! also its just the best out of all of them in like the directing and humour and horror and everything ab it esp when its ur first intro to chucky and the world so u dont know whats gonna happen. 10/10 movie chefs kiss xx 

2. bride of chucky (1998)

this is when the director decided to just so absolutely ballistic. just absolutely fucking bonkers. he got inspired to do comedy horror after scream came out in 1996 and his movies needed a change since childs play 2 & 3 went downhill. he just went fucking crazy and this movie isnt great in terms of art but its So entertaining bv its so fucking weird. also first intro to tiffany and she is so <3 so yeah

3. seed of chucky (2004)

continuation of the absolutely fucking crazy shit that happens in the horror comedies of the series. first intro to glen which is one of my fav characters !! hes just a fucking british victorian please sir can i have some more mf and i love her sm. just a silly little dude. also Gendah Flooid hashtag strangely supportive chucky.

4. curse of chucky (2013)

director went back to the straight horror and did it so well! this movie is so good with the horror and chucky and just everything. it does it so well and the intro to the new character was so good and i love her <3 just great movie all around. AND POST CREDITS SCENE!!! andy comes back and i missed him sm he's so great <3

5. childs play 2 (1990)

we get more info and character development with andy which is great!! also intro to his foster sister and shes a great character so :) also the end factory scene is so good and chucky is more funny in it compared to the first childs play so!!

6. childs play 3 (1991)

this one is the shittiest out of the first 3 movies its rlly boring and andy barclay's a teen and its rlly weird, they also sorta redid the factory scene but in a haunted house instead. i liked that it changed the storyline of chucky trying to put his soul into andy and put it into another child instead tho, it added more depth and changed the story a bit which is was the series needed 

7. cult of chucky (2017)

this movie was rlly good with learning ab nica and the horror was great and andy came back!! but it felt rlly diff from the previous chucky movies and felt like it dragged on too long so i didnt like it that much, it was ok tho!

Chucky (2021) was rlly good, im not gonna put it in the rating system bc im gonna leave that to the movies but it was rlly good!! queer horror is great and the main character being gay was a good addition 👍 the series was rlly good, it started with the intro to chucky again with a new person which is always fun, set in a teenage/highschool setting and that change is rlly fun, and adds more to the characters of charles lee ray/chucky about his background which i loved it was great since we didnt know much before ! it also brought tiffany back which was so good!!! also showed chuckys manipulation of ppl more which was ,, more depth to his character so thats always good. and chukcu was rlly funny in it!! i love the combinaton of orror and comedy esp with chucky so it was rlly good. also had nica and more ab that and the ending with her WAS SO SAD (no spoilers tho) however it was pretty cringey at parts and i laughed at that and the acting was iffy at parts but ohhh welllll it was good all around and added a lot to the series !! 

I haven’t seen s2 of the chucky series yet and that rating was before the second season came out, I may watch it soon!
