poetry submission <3

this is for a poetry contest teehee ii don't usually do poetry but ii enjoy sharing <3

from beyond the light of the streetlamp, bathed in darkness, lies the wilderness. a cold, unforgiving place that welcomes me with open arms and tangles me in rigid vines. my solemn cry behind the threshold of light; the bleat of a small, lost soul. help will never come. my flesh will unravel, my wounds will flay, i will become the darkness that encases me. and when i succumb and am intertwined, and the song on the wind beckons a new name, i will be the icy arms, the danger in the dark. i will be the monster that claimed me.
