ent s2e8 the communicator

HOSHI/MALCOLM FRIENDSHIP MOMENT SPOTTED!! malcolm pretending to care about the architecture and that being the reason for wanting to write the report and hoshi knowing he was really interested in the politics. very silly i Appreciate them. and then he immediately realizes he lost his communicator on the pre-warp planet and goes back to being cringe and fail. certified lieutenant reed moment

this bar scene is so tense and uncomfortable :| get out of there, guys. honestly i think it would have been better to just leave the thing there, they're clearly in danger from those soldiers very inconspicuously looking at them. the communicator itself can't do all that much "cultural contamination", they seem like pretty barebones devices.

yeah this situation has been made so much worse by archer and reed going back. why did they even go down to the surface of this planet if the military situation was this bad. 0/0 bad decisions all around. why do they have archer get beat up in interrogations so much in this show

they kept that sulaban ship?? neat! trip getting half his arm cloaked is so goofy. phlox is so funny just handing him a glove with that little :> face

wow okay "i could study them in more detail if we took out their organs" way to up the stakes. archer countering malcolm's "maybe first contact would be good for them, look what the vulcans did for earth" with "they waited until we were ready. we're doing the right thing." no!! the point you've been driving home the whole series is that the vulcan's judgement of earth was wrong, that they looked down on you because of their perceived superiority! who were the vulcans to decide when humanity was "ready" to travel space? who are you to decide when these people are ready? my "THE PRIME DIRECTIVE IS A FLAWED PRINCIPLE" brain does NOT like this scene

"i'm sorry you didn't get to write that report." "it may still happen, sir. i'm expecting a rescue party to come bashing through that door any moment" YEAH!!! MALCOLM REED'S BEING OPTIMISTIC!!!! he's not expecting every situation to lead to his death anymore, even when it seems more certain than ever. yay for character growth!!

uh oh. this whole plan hinged on being cloaked and now the cloak's stopped working. this is Definitely going to get worse.

trip and t'pol jumping out the cloaked ship and starting to fire was sick. i always think it's funny when they have t'pol do that dodge-roll thing bc it looks so much like video game movement. i don't think any human person can physically do that

archer and t'pol both surprised by the actions the other took, archer putting principles over his own life and t'pol putting the lives of her captain and crewman over principles. Fascinating. <-- yes i'm going to continue to say "fascinating" every time archer and t'pol have a meaningful interaction. they are interesting to me
