Nerd alert! Haha. So I chose to cosplay as Jester Lavorre from Critical Role because I just enjoy the character, and it made sense based on the things I already owned. She needs work, but I am happy how she came out for the times that I cosplayer her. Anime fusion is a local fall convention.It's smaller, but I enjoy the space that is used a LOT. The hotel is tucked away in this little nook of trees, and it's enormous! It kind of feels like a college campus with the overflow lots and the layout. It is full of comfy couches and décor that make you feel all cozy.You just wanna nap. And the acoustics are a mix between dampened quiet and then -- where the rooms are located it feels almost like an alleyway/street. With skylights all the way through. It's just FULL of natural light here. I adore this space and I hope we can get back there soon.

Katsucon 2020!!!!
I've never been to Katsu before. In fact, I have only been to one " convention" outside of my state and that was d23 2015, which was more of an expo (and idk the difference? but I'm thinking it is more or less just pure Disney? and that's what makes it an expo? idk I'll google the term) but this was for out honeymoon.
Now... I REALLY tried making a new cosplay for this. I mean, I did! I made my husband Caleb from Critical Role, to go with me-- but I really tried to make Elsa from Frozen 2, but the amount of hours it would've taken with just 2 weeks ( and work) to go.
I wouldn't have made it. So instead I made up my husband's cosplay and got this one geared up. I threw together a closet cosplay of Kiki from Kiki's Delivery service which was actually a lot of fun-- and felt a little less pressured.
I only fixed up the wig, which turned out to be nice. Unfortunately, for this though-- I made a mistake. So I had an amazon order in my cart ready to go for my husband to cosplay as Tombo, but.... when I noticed that things were missing on my door step... I checked and it turns out it was still in my cart

It was fine. I was kind of upset, but got over it by attending the con and having a good time. There were definitely some differences compared to my local con. Like there is no con suite, andddd the VIP room was a joke. Just an empty table... But the dealer's hall was cool to explore, I loved the city surrounding the gaylord resort-- and of course the courtyard area and our view of it. I wish I had more energy to party, but I was just so exhausted because of stress from my job and the wedding being over with. But if we ever do go back, I'm gonna ham it up.
This was kind of like a " preview"-- like we were just there to scope out the place so that if we ever plan to go again... it'll be easier to know what to expect, and navigate planning things.
All in all, it was a lot of fun.

I also had that cinch belt ( it is reversible too!!) that I am wanting to make a pattern from. Which is why I bought it.
The skirt was made from a denim (faux denim? it was super soft) dress, and added the white panels. I also modified my boots by removing some features that made them look modern.
My cape was a amazon child's cape that I added some clasps and Velcro to-- thought I'm not 100% happy with it.
The wig came from Amazon. I cut and styled it. My first one I think is actually a different wig-- so I plan to revamp them again, splice them together and redo the wigs. The horns are from amazon, but I painted them and added magnets to keep them on-- but I am going to redo that contraption as well. Instead of the magnets sew to the wig, I am going to attach them to a headband that will go under the wig, and the horns can then safely join. I'd also like to fix the jewelry I made.
There are some other things, tweaks here and there-- like my tail. But I LOVED this.
I'm also wondering, is there any way to have cosplay fangs that you don't have to remove to eat/drink? Or any to easily put back on after eating and drinking??
