Depression tips for my fellow bussis.
Having a routine,
Routines are sooo important especially if you have mental illnesses such as depression. I understand that you dont really feel like doing anything but i can asure you a proper morning routine will help your mood. Feeling clean for me boosts my mood so much. Start by brushing your teeth every morning (if you feel like you have the strength to, no pressure!!!!) and move up to combing your hair (if you have any).
Having things to wake up for,
Do you have a pet that you need to feed every morning, or to cuddle with? or a whole bunch of plants that you need to water every week? (me lol) then that will probably motivate you to do something. And if you dont, go to a plant shop with a friend and pick up a friendly plant that you can take care of. For me taking care of things other than myself feels easier because it makes me feel ´needed´ ya know?
Open your window, take a breath of fresh air, have some fruit, hug a loved one!
I know youre probably going through hell on earth right now but i promise it will get better over time. It took me 2 years of being ´sewersildal´ to finally go to school again, and to wake up not always feeling miserable. Im proud of you and im sure there are plenty of people that are proud of you aswell.
Self care,
I know self care sucks when youre feeling crappy but it does help. Brushing your teeth, washing your face, combing your hair etc etc will give you a better feeling afterwards. I used to have to sit on my bathroom floor to be able to brush my teeth but i still did it and i felt slightly proud afterwards! And that takes me to the next;
Setting small goals for yourself,
some examples may be:
-Brush teeth at least 3 times a week
-get out of bed at least once a day, wether its 2 seconds or two minutes
-stand in your garden for a minute
-drink enough water
-have breakfast every morning
And dont be dissapointed or angry when things dont go perfectly, practice makes progress.
Thankyou for reading my first blog, i believe in you.
