does anyone remember growing beans in elementary school? putting regular beans in wet paper towels and putting them in a ziploc bag taped to the window? cuz i do! i'm currently growing beans in an ice box. i also have one in a jar just because i got bored.
growing beans is actually pretty easy. they fully germinate in about a week in wet paper towels, and a little longer in soil. i forgot when i planted these but i think they got to this height in 2-3 weeks or so? they're also super dramatic. like their leaves tilt to face the sun very quickly and when the sun is gone they droop down. you should rotate the pot from time to time if you want the leaves to stay level. i've seen online sources say they take 50-55 days to be harvestable (that's almost 8 weeks). oh and they need to be watered every 3 or 4 days (i don't actually have a watering schedule i'm just going off an estimation)
i've always liked plants and growing/raising things. i think beans are a good beginner plant because they don't take long to grow and the beans are easily accessible. like these are beans i got from my kitchen. and you get to have beans more in the end!!! anyways i didn't make this for any specific purpose, i just wanted to show off my bean plants. i'm a pretty amateur gardener but this has been fun to observe. you could really grow the seeds from your food if you wanted.
ALSO! FRUITS COME FROM A FLOWERING PLANT (THE OVARIES) AND CONTAIN SEEDS! VEGETABLES COME FROM THE EDIBLE PARTS OF A PLANT (NOT THE OVARIES), LIKE ROOTS, STEMS, AND LEAVES! JUST BECAUSE A TOMATO IS COOKED LIKE A VEGETABLE DOES NOT MEAN IT ISN'T A FRUIT! IF YOU CAN SEE THE SEEDS IT'S A FRUIT, IF YOU CAN EAT THE LEAVES IT'S A VEGETABLE!!!!!
