Journal Entry #42: 05/05/23

Happy Cinco de Mayo!

Funnily enough, I am commonly mistaken for being Latina.

So, my other two exams went okay, I really hope I get a 3 or above for all of them! We'll just have to see in July.

As for other happenings, I haven't done much. However, my counselor scared the crap out of parents by sending out an email that stated that for online courses that are graduation requirements, you needed to complete the assessments by May 4th to receive credit. Apparently, that's not the case, but she confused everyone with her email and with what she told me in person. My parents say that the counselors at my high school don't know what they're doing. I think they're right. Alabama is placed second to last (I think?) for compulsory education. Thank God I'm leaving this dump, stuff like this shouldn't happen in college!

Speaking of college, I did even more shopping for bedding, and I have settled on a navy and blue striped comforter! It's so pretty, there's just something really appealing about geometric patterns.

Oh, and I found a cool new Vtuber. I know SpaceHey people are pretty retro, and therefore don't really care about Vtubers, but whatever. In fact, I'm kinda new to the Vtuber scene, even if my Twitch account's kinda old. I think I've talked about Bignosebug here before, but that's not who I'm talking about today. I'm talking about BasilWoof. I stumbled across his model on my feed and was blown away. Even though I find the model's body appealing, there's just something so perfect about Basil's face, even with the giant scar in the way. In a way, Basil's kinda a spin on the "traditional" Vtuber (i.e. scantily-clad anime girl with big breasts). Naturally, because of this, Basil can be a bit lewd with his dialogue and his model is most certainly suggestive, but I find it refreshing and less forced because few Vtuber models do this. Also, he's just like any other guy: playing flashy videogames and screaming as he wins and loses lol. In fact, watching BasilWoof has allowed me to return to a similar habit: watching my (ex) boyfriend play video games! However, I need to make sure to not get attached, the parasocial can be mentally damaging.

Anyway, that's enough simping. (Wait, also BasilWoof's a professional artist, and he drew his own model! That's so cool!)

Oh, and I hope to post more than just journal entries, now that I'm (almost) out of school.
