another month has passed which means its time for me to do a wrap up on what ive consumed this month!
i watched a LOT. of stuff this month so this could be a long one
JOHN WICK 4
OH BOY this ones a Lot, considering its like 3 hours long
great great movie!! i mean, i sure wish it was shorter but i think this is a perfect farewell for the series.
a big issue ive had with previous john wick movies is that the side characters are very forgettable if they dont become series mainstays. their one-off assassins have always been very Blah to me.
thats not an issue in this one!!
both caine and mr nobody are incredibly interesting and memorable! i mean, caines name is ridiculous and im not sure im the right person to speak on whether or not he works well as representation but i did enjoy him!
i loved mr nobody a lot and his art was so fun :3 i felt like seeing him draw the ppl he was chasing after was a super creative detail
also the action kicks ass, the style is great. i mean, its john wick. thats what you expect.
its got a lot of callbacks to the previous films (my beloved club scene got one <3) and a bunch of great set pieces! god i love this movie

i watched this entire show in 3 days and i think it destroyed my brain. im so desensitized to fictional gore now its nothing to me

obviously this is not for the faint of heart but oh my god if you can handle it....THIS SHOW!!!!
i have my issues mainly in the form of its social commentary. its way too heavy handed and obvious but i do AGREE with its message. some things im shocked they even have in it because i was like, not expecting it to be so "radical" (though for actual radical standards its not even close) by aggressively discrediting the whole "i can fix the bad corp from the inside!" trope. love that.
i am so tired of ppl only talking abt homelander and butcher. we need more hughieposting.

i dont rlly know what my scream ranking is after 6, i havent really thought abt it for reasons ill explain later (unless i forget)
this is definitely my second fav ghost face tho!! i enjoy their dynamic being so fucked up n strange, the humors pretty solid, i like the style! agh love this movie.

this movie is a mess i think but i kinda really like it.
like, most obvious ghostface in the entire series tbh. i got them RIGHT away the second their character traits were revealed i was like yep okay its you. youre trying way too hard to seem innocent.
however i did really enjoy this ghost face and theyre my 3rd fav!
its for some personal reasons that i felt so strongly but i also really enjoy when series get super fucked up and dark and this is definitely the evilest ghostface we've had! so! yay for fucked up things!! love em!!!
i think all the actors are great but sam is very half-baked in this, her entire backstory sucks and is STUPID AS HELL. TARA SHOULDVE BEEN THE MAIN CHARACTER IN THIS MOVIE I STG LIKE IDGAF

strange and enjoyable! very david lynch and i genuinely mean that. not in the way ppl throw around lynchian, this actually has similarities to his work.
i like weird stuff like this a lot, its right up my alley

i started writing a whole blog post abt this movie and i think i still may finish it.
this is...weird. but i love it.
like its stupid as fuck and lots of things in it are BAD IDEAS, objectively. terrible ghostface twist but its camp. like its so camp.
i think im loving the direction the series is going SO LONG as it keeps the fucking BONKERS tone. i need these soap opera level twists to stay.
JURY DUTY
this shows SO good omfg. and it can be finished in just a few hours
if youre a nathan fielder fan youll love this. its like if his work was much nicer to its subjects. i dont think hes particularly meanspirited but this show makes him LOOK really bad.
