We met after the Calamity, when the world was rebuilt again. We were a rebellious bunch, causing havoc and taking matters into our own hands most of the time. We pissed off 'the Law' a lot; I knew what the world could really be like, I'd seen a lot in my life by this point, and my friends appreciated the stories. It gave them hope.
The world at that time had people claiming to be our Authoritative Figures; there wasn't a government, there weren't countries, just one large technologically advanced city and many smaller settlements around it. Politics was stiff and strict. You'd think after everything that had happened, fascist mindsets would have died down. But it didn't. Even With the ratio of the human population at it's lowest.
Anyway, point is that I inspired my friends, and they inspired me. After the Calamity? I was tired, sad, burdened by it. They approached me to hear of my stories, and their fire burned brighter than before. They were no longer kids with vague ideas, they were full of hope and the power of choice. We were a new rebellion in a time of societal complacency.
