ent s2e7 the seventh

i am Intrigued so far. so t'pol used to be intelligence, huh? and this mission is making up for a past failure in a way. and she chooses to reveal this to archer, asks him to join her. him, as opposed to another vulcan operative or even one of enterprise's security officers, who would undoubtedly be more capable. "i need someone i can trust" it's as though half his purpose in this is to serve as emotional support. to a vulcan. Fascinating. archer and t'pol have such an interesting dynamic i am rotating them in my mind

trip's concern over where archer's going, what is he doing, what if he gets hurt. Also fascinating. i am once again asking the show to tell us what their history is

they are not being covert at all. no disguises, just walking around staring at everyone. completely obvious. fire fight in the middle of the bar. What are y'all doing... they caught him awful fast for how much trouble he gave t'pol before. this must be a body double or something, it doesn't make sense

trip inviting The Boys to dinner in the captain's dining room trying to reap the benefits of being acting captain and then being inundated with Requests is very funny. it cuts from t'pol clearly having some sort of crisis interspersed with dramatic flashbacks to trip pretending to be the captain.. even when the plot is serious this show has to do something goofy. and the message was just water polo scores?? the admiral seriously forwarded that to the vulcan captain instead of just sending archer a space email??

i'd thought t'pol had been brainwashed at the request of the high command, but now it sounds like it was voluntary. which has Implications. why would they send her to capture another fugitive if she had to get her whole memory wiped the last time? the whole thing's just cruel, for one, but surely it would be more effective to have someone else do it rather than risk her becoming sympathetic to him, like she is now. someone had to have seen that coming.

archer trying to get t'pol to continue the mission, arguing reason against her emotion is the inverse of what they've done throughout the entire series. her yelling "captain!" as manos was walking away, trying to call her bluff, "tell me to shoot him" because she can't trust her own judgement but she can trust him. i am OBSESSED. her going to archer's ready room at the end just to say "if you ever need someone you can trust", him having a sarcastic jab ready as a habit but apologizing immediately after. obsessed, i tell you. really good episode
