Abigail hobbs is so tragic: a rambling

I am so insane about about abigail hobbs she's my favorite ever so heres me rambling about her

Abigail Hobbs needed someone to love her in a way that no one could offer her. Everyone hurt her, for this own gain. She was thrown around from person to person and used as a threat, a martyr and excuse

She never ASKED for Hannibal to pull his whole “we’re her fathers now” 

Hannibal dragged her into it and created that false sense of trust and security

He basically assured her that no one other than him and Will could ever keep her safe and understand what she was going through

He told her tales about the public’s view of her, and said that he could save her from that, save her from being the villain that she was forced into being. 

He convinced her that he could provide that sense of security, that safely and love that only a father can provide. He told her he would protect her taught her the things he knew. 

But he still kept Abigail trapped and caged like a bird. He convinced her that faking her death was the only way she wouldn’t get in trouble, the only way everyone wouldn’t hate her. He kept her in that fucking house and would come home at night and pretend that everything was normal, that they were a normal family

Abigail is also so like. God she is longing for her independence, to put everything about her father behind her but Will and Hannibal keep dragging it up, and it hangs around her neck like chains ( literally! The last thing Abigail’s father did was give her a huge scar on her neck)

Abigail hides the scar in public and private, as if covering it up will make all the damage undone. 

The only scenes I can recall where she wasn’t is three, one where she’s helping Hannibal fake her death, another when Hannibal is giving her therapy and the last is the final episode of season two

Which is so bittersweet because it implies a comfortablness with Hannibal, a feeling a safety. She doesn’t feel the need to hold her traumas close to her chest and scare off anyone that gets close. 

But then Hannibal fucking REOPENS THAT GOD DAMN WOUND BECAUSE HES BEING A PISSY LITTLE BITCH CAUSE HIS FUCKING BOYCRUSH DIDNT LIKE HIM BACK.

Me when I think about how Abigail was comforted by Hannibal with the thought of a life she could live without worry, without her old life looking over her shoulder. 

How Abigail was left constantly left grasping at straws for an ending that didn’t involve being her father’s daughter, being on that kitchen floor.

I am a normal amount passionate about Abigail
