in retrospect

yestermorn was the time upon which i began to hear scratching up above. the yummy smell of the damp and dark outside leaking in through my window, I began to feel unsettled. at first I assumed it was the rats, and yet it kept growing louder and louder. after about half an hour the noise was far too loud for the rats. i made the unfortunate decision to investigate the matter. i live alone (besides a few creepies and crawlies), so i was not afraid of disturbing any one. i made my way twards the disturbance, and found it to originate from the attic. i pulled down the trap door to enter the domain above, only to be greeted by a horrid screeching sound that sent me tumbling down. as i recovered i heard the awful beast retreat deep into the bowels of the house and scurry down the walls. i went up anyways to see if i could find any clues, but there were only cobwebs (hence why i have made the decision to post this in the web section). i believe these were the machinations of the shadow men (or shadow people to be p.c.). beastslayer, i call upon you, may you help me?
