the final countdown

Bet you heard that keyboard riff in your head? Sorry (not really!)

Had rehearsal last night, and true to form, the songs are air tight and the vibes are flowing nicely (in metal?!) Next week will be the last rehearsal and then starting on May 6, we begin recording my ninth album. 

Let that sink in for a minute.

NINTH ALBUM? Holy moly...I recorded my debut album TWISTED METAL in 2003, which was 20 years ago?! If you told me back then that I would be doing a ninth album, I would have rolled my eyes and said "We'll see." But here I am, twenty years later, still writing and rehearsing new music. While my path as a teacher is the best for me, it's still great to be creative and put out music when I feel like it (or when the muse nudges my shoulder). 

And yes I still get those butterflies in my stomach when I think about hearing the words "Okay let's go for a take!" That will never get old. And if it does, then it's time to stop.

I hope some of you are ready for this opus.
