Disconnecting from technology

I've been thinking on how to disconnect from social media and technology (yeah ironic ik) and so far I've been trying to keep my social media usage to my personal laptop.

 I've thought about giving up my smartphone and switching to a basic cell phone like a Nokia or something like that.

 The type I'm looking at is like 40 bucks and I could probably just get it myself. Does anyone out there have any advice or things to know before cutting off the convinces of tech?
