SONGS OF APRIL 2023

TIME FOR THE MONTHLY "SONG'S I'M LOVING" UPDATE! 

1. TV GIRL - NOT ALLOWED (alternative/indie): i've realllllyyy been getting into tv girl lately! usually this type of stuff isn't my jam but, something about the way their songs are written make the music super enjoyable. i like listening to them while wandering around on campus.

2. DAVID BOWIE - LIFE ON MARS? (glam rock/art rock): as a teenager, i listened to a metric fuck ton of david bowie, and i've recently gotten back into his music. i've been feeling pretty whimsical and this song fits the script. i also am fascinated by his look. the 80's have a death grip on my ears and eyes.

3. TYPE O NEGATIVE - IN PRAISE OF BACCHUS (metal/goth metal): my love, my life, type o. i have a problem. and i love their music. october rust is a phenomenal album and this song is the strongest, in my opinion. heavily recommend this whole album.

4. HOLE - CELEBRITY SKIN (alternative rock): fun fact for you! did you know that courtney love is autistic? unpopular opinion, but, as messy as she is, i adore her. i also have autism, and i too have many haters. so her and i got a couple things in common, lol.

5. COCTEAU TWINS - HEAVEN OR LAS VEGAS? (shoegaze/dreampop): i absolutely love the twins. this song in particular has been on repeat since last month, same with a couple other songs from them. however, this earworm is here to stay.

6. GHOST - JESUS HE KNOWS ME (metal/pop metal): unsurprisingly, ghost has made another bop. i'm in love with this cover - which, is crazy it's a cover, i did not know until the albums track list was shown. it's really fun as a song and i cannot wait for phantomime to be released!! (also, this was released on easter, loll)

7. MELANIE MARTINEZ - SPIDER WEB (dark pop): much like ghost before her, melanie has once again released a bop (including the whole album). this song in particular itches my brain in a unique way that i can't quite describe. i just recommend that you give it a listen (as well as the rest of the album).

that'll wrap it up for this month! i know it's come a bit early, but i don't have time very often for blogging. starting school and work at the same time has been tiring, but i can't stop doing the stuff i love too.
