ALWAYS A RANGER
Ok, it's nostalgia bait out the ass, let's admit that REAL quick. That said, it's pretty damn good nostalgia bait. I was wondering how they'd get out of not having Jason David Frank, Austin St John, or Amy Jo Johnson in there but having the characters turned into figures in the first fight worked really well in and out of universe. For those bitching that Hasbro disrespected JDF's wishes to not have anything to do with MMPR going forward because they used a couple of his ki-haps in the fight, it's not like they remixed old dialogue to get him saying new things. They were sound effects. Ease up, please, and put your stress on other more pressing issues in the "dead celebrities" sphere.
So happy to see the flying car back as well, since it showed up in one episode 30 years ago and then was just... never seen again, not even during any of the following seasons of MMPR where Billy was still on and it would have been super useful to have (kinda like Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon's- Force Speed from Episode 1).
I wish they had let David Yost have a mini-series for this, I know he had an 8-parter written and there's limited budgets, but would a 3 or 4 parter hurt, just to give it a little extra padding on time?
I think having Trini's daughter Minh take over like she did would bookend beautifully into her becoming the first new Ranger if they do a semi-reboot of the series. David/Billy and Walter Jones/Zak becoming the mentors and Minh becoming the first Yellow leader of a team.
Finally, love the "Bandora Protocol" since Rita's name in the OG Sentai was Witch Bandora, and that it showed EVERY Ranger team in the Prime Universe getting the call, perhaps each of them have their own protocols for their own villains?
What are y'all's thoughts?

I teared up when they summoned the megazord and had to cackle along when Rita screamed "MAGIC WAND, MAKE MY MONSTER GROW!" (I don't know how familiar you are with wrestling lingo, but I definitely popped.) and then the ending straight up made me cry.

As I recall, David Yost left the original show under bad terms; clearly they patched things up? And yeah, that was stone cold badass.

Yeah, he faced a lot of harassment back in the day for being gay, which while sad, really isn't all the surprising for the early 90's. Slight tangent, but does anyone else wish they'd given him a bit more makeup to make his skin not look so.... mottled? Also, he just didn't seem to have the same energy that he used to or other leads/Rangers give.

True that, but then again, I think it played into his character of exhausted scientist who is utterly devastated that his attempts to resurrect his wizard mentor failed.
