Break City Blog 4/19/23 "We Breakin' and we Cityin'"

Okay this is gonna be the first of many break city blogs where I talk about how progress is going on the games and comic as well as just life stuff in general at the time. I might have some team members also say some things on here. The twitter will still have info but this is if you want some juicy facts on certain things like how long it'll take for things to get done (a long time). Here's some things before we begin.

What is a Break City Brawl, is it poisonus?

Kinda? It's a fast-paced cartoon fighting game heavily inspired by Pocket Fighter on the Playstation 1. It aims to borrow mechanics from Pocket Fighter and have a seprate mode that carries from traditional combo-based fighting games.

What does this game stand out from the others?

Idk it has plans to be open source, so you can mugen to your heart's content. And I haven't seen anyone use the Pocket Fighter mechanics in a while if not ever again so I kinda wanted to do that it looked cool.

Who's in this game anyways?

We've got a diverse cast of roughly 8-10 characters to start out with. But I'll reveal the whole cast around June-ish they're not done just yet. I may have drawn some characters featured already.

What's the deal with the story?

Stan Bossman, the greedy CEO of The Boss Corporation and backstabber of what was once known as Break Town, made a deal with the devil to turn a humble little village into a corporate cesspool of unforgiving cut-throat enterprises. Years after the betrayal of his one and only friend, he opened up a fighting tournament of non-stop action because he was bored. Now it's up to whoever you choose to uncover the attrocities of Boss Corp. and take down Bossman once and for all. Learn your way through the city to make new allies and connections that will being you closer to victory.

That was cool and all but when is this coming out?

This is a huge passion project, I can't really say. But look forward to these upcoming months as more work gets done. Look we don't even have a prototype yet it'll be done when it's done.

So about this comic...

I can't shove every bit of story into the game so a comic was my best option, it'll be more stylized and feature more characters than what's shown in-game.
