hi angels,
as you know from my last blog post (or not) my life has been pretty rocky as of late, so i'm going to use this blog post as a space to post my new years resolutions i wrote in January-- i figure putting them out there like this into the universe will help me better acheive them and keep me accountable ^^ these are, of course, highly specific to me, but perhaps looking through what i plan on improving in myself can inspire introspection and personal edification in you!

now, unfortunately, i haven't been following through with most of these. but the great thing about goals geared towards personal improvement is that you don't need a "right" time to start them, now is as good as any time! it's far easier to just write these out and leave it at that, but i'm planning on incorporating the SMART goals mindset/layout into them as well, to make sure i really am able to do all of these things that i desire. perhaps i'll make a post about SMART goals some day in the future...
anyway, it's easy to discount the positives, too. sure i may not have been achieving all of these all of the time, but growth is a journey and health isn't linear. it's important for me to recognize all of my little victories, too-- like the goal regarding taking better care of my hair: i've been doing phenomanally at that, and in just a few months my hair has been transformed and i feel so much more confident in it. and for using my positive coping skills, even though the situation was less than ideal, i got a much needed refresher on those in the partial hospitalization clinic i was in and i've consistently been utilizing those (i haven't self-harmed in 61 days as of writing this).
anyway, what i'm trying to say is this: goals are supposed to be flexible, they're supposed to change and grow with you, and i intend on letting mine do just that. and every single situation gives you an opportunity to learn and grow, use it!! be kinder towards yourself, in the grand scheme of things you're the only one you truly have, so your relationship with yourslef is beyond important. love yourself, love the world, love others-- and do it all unabashedly. life is too short for rumination and regret
i love you, always,
siren
