you wished me goodnight over the phone but I can’t help but wish that you were here lying beside me. I want to roll around in bed with you and just have you talk my ear off. Let your words bring me to sleep. To be in your sleeping embrace; we could stay like that til we hear the mourning doves. You’d let me gnaw at your neck as you speak those sweet words like you always seem to do. Whispering to each other like we haven’t already woken up the whole house with our giggles. I want nothing more than to fall asleep with me in our bed.
