How ''A Splitting Of A Mind'' broke me...

So bassically it's a Frerard MCR fanfiction...

The funny thing is that I ussually do not read fics about real people, I always felt a little bit weird about them 'cause like they are real people... not some fictional charachters... they didn't necesarily agreed to be in this, Eeeh?

So how I ever ended up reading this...

So I really like watching those old interviews on youtube, everything about them is perfect, from the not really 4k camera, to a real emotions you can see on the screen. I feel like a bigger proffesionalizm nowadays somehow killed this naturality of these old interviews...

But back to the point

At 1am I was watching some old mcr interviews, and then there was question about fics, what suprised me was that Ray told that they don't necesarilly have a lot against them... and that he even thinks it's cool that kids are expressing their creativity.

and after diving into a comment section I found this comment

I pretty much get intrigued about the cornflakes part, what was the deal with this comment? Why so many answers and likes? I knew It was clearly a reference, a reference I didn't know. And it was 1am, perfect time to educate myself on this.

So I've read those answers and after reading like 50 of them I new I had to read the fic.

I don't really want to go with full on review. First, who in the world is even going to read this, and second, If you, who are reading it are going to read ASOTM, you probably don't want to read too much spoilers.

Number of pages: 538 (I've read it in 3 days btw!)

So bassically, they are all sick in mental institution, (I don't think I need to add more into it) Ray is reading phrophecies from the cereal, Gerard is haunted by THEM and then there's the most sane person out there, trumatised Frank.

Main focus of the story is Gerard's relationship with Frank (it's from Gerard POV)

I would say the book should have ended in the chapter 16... It would be really nice ending, but sadly chapters 17-20 do exist

they exist and with them there is a true rollercoaster of emotions and gay sex

... I would just say, If you want to read something nice and sfw just stop reading after the Chapter 16, but at the same time what were you even expecting from a Frerard fanfiction?

Also the truth is, that if you'll read til Chapter 16, you'll most likely get invested into fic

and jokes aside every chapter of this fic is amazing

Author really did a great job and most of the time fic felt like a real book written by a proffesional, I think the main downfall would be that the mental ilnesses weren't really portrayed reallisticly, but it's a piece of fiction after all, some things don't have to be done perfectly.

I think that the best summary of the whole fic would be a fellow mcr quote

''And though you're dead and gone, believe me. Your memory will carry on"

So yeah I got invested and the ending pretty much broke me. But I won't spoil it for you, you can experience this masterpiece on your own
