Television part of the interests thing on our profile.

Posting the television section of th interest thing on our profile here because it's way too long and I don't want it to be there since it's so annoying to scroll through:

Strap in lads, this is going to be a LONG one!

(Imagine I'm clearing my throat here for dramatic effect)

STAR TREK!!!

I CANNOT adequately express how much I love Star Trek! I watched it for the first time when I was  11, my dad introduced it to me and the whole family watched all of the Star Trek shows and it was EPIC! We watched at least an episode a day, we started out with DISCO and TOS at the SAME TIME which was weird asf but then we moved on pretty much in order of release from there except we watched PIC before finishing ENT. I love Star Trek so much it's my special interest I talked about it so much that my therapist suggested an autism assessment (also because of other things but yaknow) (incase you didn't notice, I am in fact autistic) and when I was at the assessment the assessment person immediately asked if it wa my special interest. I think about Star Trek multiple times every day, I have not gone a single day without thinking about Star Trek for almost 5 years. It's also how I got into fandom and also how I first started actually using the internet for something other than like kid stuff. (I was not a child with unlimited internet access which is something I do not have in common with most people here.) I got Pinterest to look at Star Trek stuff, then I discovered Garashir (I was watching Ds9 at the time), then Spirk/KS/The Premise (I love these names omg it's my favourite thing/hyp) and it just spiraled from there. Roughly 50% of my T-Shirts are Star Trek themed, I'm part of a local Star Trek fan club (Stockholm Trekkers) and we basically just watch Star Trek and talk about Star Trek for 10 hours straight. Also since it's an ideel organisation (Swedish, idk how to translate Google it or smthng) the government helps pay for it. THE GOVERNMENT PAYS FOR A BUNCH OF PEOPLE TO WATCH STAR TREK FOR 10 HOURS STRAIGHT! (kind of).

Anyway, now I've ranted a bit about Star Trek I can proceed to discuss other shows I like.

1. Supernatural SPOILER WARNING!!  SPOILERS!!

HEAR ME OUT OK: The Star Trek references. I can confidently say that I would not have watched all 15 seasons of this show if it were not for the Star Trek references. What made you start watching you ask? I saw what happened in 15x18 before I even started watching that's what! I am a latecomer so I started watching only last year but I hyperfixated because of course I did and finished the show pretty quickly, knowing (kind of, I had no context) what was going to happen in 15x18. Luckily, I am neurospicy (idk if it's the autism, ADHD, or the trauma I cant tell the difference) enough to still enjoy the show the same amount, if not more because I'm a menace like that. This is one of the shows I love but also hate but the love may be stronger than the hate. I sometimes laugh at scenes that are not supposed to be funny purely because of how American they are. Especially Dean, he is the epitome of what I grew up thinking an American is. He likes burgers, beer, cars and guns and also dresses like a lumberjack and that is what America was to me as a kid. I also regularly have the horrid realisation that their tea consumption is practically zero which hurt my heart because I've been drinking tea every day since I was 6. When I went to summer camp as an 11 y/o I packed tea bags because I didn't want the weak Swedish tea they have there, I wanted my PG tips! Random fun fact about this show: Star Trek obviously exist within the universe of Supernatural yet several actors who have been in Star Trek have also been in spn. Some examples of this include that one guy in 1x4 who called them and told them about the weird shit with the planes is lllyed by the same actor who played that guy called Durst in that one episode in season one of Star Trek: Voyager where the Vidiians steal B'Ellana because they think she's immune to the phage, that one guy from the "fight the fairies" episode who was a leprechaun who pretended to be a UFO expert was played by Robert Picardo who played the doctor on VOY! A LEADING ROLE! Also Crowley, played by Mark Shepard. Guess who he also plays? That's right, Icheb's dad in like an episode or two of VOY! Also fun fact, in the scene where Dean makes that reference to Star Trek IV and Bobby and Sam have no clue what they're talking about because Dean is the nerdiest nerd to ever have nerded and Bobby says "I only watched Deep Space Nine" he was originally supposed to say he only watched The Next Generation but Jim Beaver (who plays Bobby) wanted it changed because his late wife played Ishka (aka "Moogie", a recurring role) on Ds9. That's so cool right? Can you tell I'm hyperfixating?

2. BBC Merlin

This was my first proper fandom after Star Trek and it introduced me to a bunch of cool things like being depressed on Christmas Eve and liking shows with 5 seasons and no spin-offs (/hj, first part is a joke second is mostly not). I have so much time say about this show but I don't rlly know what to put, read Heartlines on ao3, it's a soulmate au and I read it like three years ago and have reread it the most times out of any fix (if we're only counting full rereads). Also the queerbaiting in this sh ok w wa not it the BBC is so fucking weird. (/neg)

3. BBC Sherlock

This is another one of the shows I both love and hate but with this one the hate wins I hat this show so much but I was hyperfixated on it for ages and they're actually so sweet and they drink tea and tea is yay. Also I love fandom history and this one ha some INTERESTING history. Also MorMor fandom iykyk. Nothing more to say about this one except I couldn't find it on any streaming services so I have a DVD box-set.

4. Doctor who

Yes, I do realise what I have done. I did it knowingly and I will not apologise. As stated previously I am a menace to society and I can only be expected to behave accordingly. Do not demand I defy my nature for I cannot. Anyway, I grew up with this show but I didn't start watching as young as some did since I've never actually lived in the UK. (Isn't my nationality confusing ooo such a mystery omg /j) Ive watched all of new-who and I'm currently kind of rewatching, I've watched partway through the whole Clara thing. The only BBC show on this list that did queer rep right, Jack Harkness was my favourite character as a kid and that will never change. One of my biggest flexes is that I went to the Doctor Who experience in Cardiff like a year before it closed. Also one of our family friends in England (omg the plot thickens! /j) gave me literally all of their merch because they had grown out of it when I was a kid.

5. Dirk Gently's Hollistic Detective Agency

This is a show that I l love and not in any way hate. It is actually so good, the only bad thing about it is that it only has 2 seasons. I have yet to find a show quite like this one.

I feel like 5 is a good amount so I'll stop here because this has gotten way too long.

There we go! Very happy to hit give to scroll through this anymore haha, I'll probably make a more concise version to put there instead so it's not empty.
