Things in the 2000's that I would've liked to live (part 1)

Hi!! ^^ So, I came to the conclusion that Spacehey users are divided in two groups: nostalgic adults and teenagers who were far too young to experience MySpace in the days of yesteryear. I'm part of the second group, and I find myself thinking about the things that would blasted my mind If I had been a teenager in the early 2000's...

So let's go!!!

Emos VS Punks at the Insurgentes roundabout (with a plot twist)

This one is kinda funny. It's not a secret that emos have been bullied since its existences, and particularly, 15 years ago this was crazy. A lot of other subcultures had this excessive hatred and the stereotypes that were made about the emos did not improve the matter, so what they did in Mexico was to protest against it and then, a group of skaters and punks said they were going to beat them at the Insurgentes roundabout.

(The sign reads "I'm emo and I demand respect.")

Okay, but what makes this almost surreal is the denouement, which was at the hands of a Buddhist group called Hare Krishna (????

HOW???? Well, this event was so big that it was on national news, many people knew about this, even the Hare Krishna. During the afternoon, the groups that were going to confront each other were monitored by the police and then the Buddhists came out of nowhere playing music, and as if by magic people calmed down.

(Emos against Punks in Mexico. Intervention of the Hare Krishna)

THIS WAS CRAZY, HISTORICAL AND I WISH I HAD BEEN THERE IF IF I HADN'T BEEN SO BUSY LEARNING THE COLORS IN KINDERGARTEN (Btw I'm not from Mexico but this is a culturally significant moment, if you are Hispanic you know what I mean)

Disclaimer: I'm not romanticizing problematics of the 2000's and I know that even just a decade ago we had a backward and violent society. Let's not go back in that way, but we can enjoy nostalgia.

Okay, that's it. BYEEEEE!!!
