22nd Birthday!

On April 14th it was my birthday! I'm a little broke but I still managed to have a pretty sick day with my boyfriend! Lemme share some pics with you!!

First, my boyfriend came over to pick me up and surpised me with a tiny cake with a candle on it, it was adorable! It was one of those little chocolate mouse shaped cakes, they're very popular here! 

Then we got on the subway to go to Syntagma Square and find a place to eat at. I had plans to go to a Chinese place but sadly a lot of places are closed these days because of the Orthodox Easter. Easter here is a moving holiday, which means it won't be at the same date every year, so my birthday can be anywhere during the Great Week, mostly Great Thursday or Great Friday. I was originally born Great Saturday, the day Jesus Christ resurrected according to the Orthodox Easter. But typically my birthday falls on Great Friday, the day he is buried after his death. What a beautiful day to celebrate my birthday xDDDDD. Thankfully, we managed to find a Chinese restaurant open there, called DaPanda. 

I loved this restaurant, since it's one of those tiny ones hidden in an alley (Syntagma is full of alleys despite the large street of Ermou). This is a noodle soup with beef and bok choy, it was super tasty and it kept me full!

My boyfriend had his lunch already at that point, so he got this small tomato and egg soup. This soup made him extremely drowsy for some reason, and this man eats a lot with no problem xDDDD. To be fair my soup made me very drowsy as well. 

Being at the center of Athens means a lot of walks and a lot of cats! We walked from Syntagma to Monastiraki, where all the ancient ruins and stray cats are! There's a ton of stray cats there being taken care of by the restaurant owners and they're super fat and the most unbothered creatures to exist. Going around and petting them all was the best part of my day. That and the chocolate chip mint ice-cream (it doesn't taste like toothpaste don't be snobbish).

After our adventures, we decided it was time to go back to his place, since he had some gifts for me!

Me from my birthday xD I didn't feel particularly great about my look that day, but i still enjoyed my comfy baggy jeans and t-shirt. Also Miku chan shirt :D.

My boyfriend was very excited to show me what he got me, he even made a nice box for presentation (I currently use it to store my comics xD).

Look at all the cute stuff he got me! I can't wait to use the Monster High bags for shopping! Also for those who don't know, the thing on the left is a candle. During Great Saturday, Christians here use candles to pick up the "holy light" from the church and bring it home with them after Jesus Christ's resurrection. We call them "Λαμπάδα" (labada). And for marketing purposes obviously, they always came with toys during easter time, hence why there's a Monster High candle XD. It was probably attached to a doll or MH set at some point in time.

He also got me this Molang cup he knew I loved, and i'm OBSESSED. Look how cute ><!!!

Another really cool gift he got me was this Sailor Moon themed soft drink! It's pear flavoured and nothing like your typical soda: it's super fizzy, refreshing and tastes very mild. Will keep the can for decor and collect the rest of them of course!

As for what i got myself, i got comics of this DC series called "Collapser", just missing the first volume I need to order. Later this month I'm also getting a new doll, either Monster High or Mermaze!

This coming week, I'm going to the Museum of Natural History!!! I'm super hyped for this and it was what I originally wanted to do for my birthday, so there will be a second part to this! Thank you for checking out my blog! <3
