Good Feelings

This is a list of good feelings that I have experienced, sorted into two categories: Physical and Mental/Emotional. I hope you agree with at least a few. Let's begin!

Physical:

Sight

  • geometricĀ patterns
  • sunrises/sunsets
  • the Moon
  • Large bodies of water, such as the beach
  • smooth animation
  • the color blue
  • retro/y2k visual aesthetic
  • everything after I clean my glasses lol
  • sunlight or moonlight passing through my curtains

Sound


  • Music, of course! (Bossa nova, jungle, drum and bass, dubstep, ambient, etc.)
  • when you first listen to a song and get frisson (goosebumps)
  • birds chirping
  • rain/water flowing
  • music boxes
  • gravel on tires
  • someone's heartbeat
  • bass (not necessarily the instrument)
  • a soft breeze
  • foreign accents!

Smell


  • Lavender
  • Freshly cut grass
  • baby powder
  • freshly baked desserts
  • Irish Spring body wash
  • vanilla
  • pine
  • Coconut
  • pizza
  • books
Taste


  • yogurt
  • fresh veggies (the texture and water especially)
  • strawberry flavored things
  • animal crackers (those rounded ones especially)
  • milk
  • riceĀ 
  • matcha tea
  • cheese (and cheese-flavored things)
  • boba
  • sushi

Touch


  • Cotton and fleece clothing
  • the sun touching my skin
  • heavy blankets
  • when the water cools on my skin after getting out of the shower
  • squishmallows
  • a hug
  • cool water sliding down my throat
  • standing in/moving through a body of water (like at a pool)
  • pressing buttons/switches
  • clothing that either fits somewhat tight or somewhat loosely

Mental/Emotional:


  • returning to a familiar place
  • finally finding something
  • waking up to a beautiful day after a rainy night
  • doing better on a test than expected
  • having my belief be suspended
  • realizing I have a lot more in common with someone than I thought
  • that feeling after a good long cry
  • experiencing the end of something (it doesn't matter if the "something" is good or bad)
  • having a truly relaxed day off/weekend
  • journaling
