today i want to about one topic specifically. . . .
generation two.
generation two of monster high is overhated,
and i'm going to write my positive opinions on a line other than electrified, if you'd like to see my opinions on electrified, see the previous post.

firstly, let us discuss the films, ghoul squad is it's own beast, so
i will be saving that for another separate post.
i unironically really enjoy this movie !!
generation two was very close to how generation one was, but it was also trying to target that sweet demographic of slightly younger kids, whereas generation one wanted to target tweens, generation two was more for 6-10 rather than 10-12/13.
but in my opinion, mh is for all ages, so long as you can enjoy it, it is for you, as frankie stein once said; "you are monster high."
but what is this movie about you might be asking?
that is a very good question !!
the plot is very similiar to hotel transylvania
draculaura's father is very anti-human, because humans are anti-monster.
this doesn't work out for draculaura though, because she wants to see a concert of her favourite popstar, tash, who happens to be human.
personally i'm one who loves the doting dracula father figure trope, and i will literally unlive for it as long as i am unliving, it is so so so so cute !!
also i am just a big fan of his design.
when draculaura meets frankie, she introduces frankie to tash.
and while they discuss tash, frankie is kind of a smarty-pants know it all kinda of character, and i really love that vibe for them, i love that vibe of g2 frankie and wish it was continued.
when the two get together, they decide to create Monster High, a high school for monsters to attend and be able to meet and be friends with other monsters. . .
it all started with dreaming of a town filled with monsters.
btw this is when i start believing in sapphic frankie/draculaura in g2, they're kinda my otp until electrified when it feels like frankie/twyla is the new ship in town
AND NOW FOR SOMETHING I'M EXCITED ABOUT !!
g2 clawdeen's amulet, i'm never gonna get to talk about this unless i specifically do a doll chat about what i think inspired g3, but this especially feels like planting the seeds that g3's garden sprung from.
clawdeen in g2 had his amulet, and it helped her transform into a full like, actual wolf.
i believe this inspired generation 3's moonclaw, which is a talisman that helps clawdeen transform between werewolf and human.
it is even similiarly shaped with the crescent moon !!
overall this movie is really cute, but i think the new lore for the school is what made people lash out about it, and i get it, but you need to look at it from the pespective that it is not created to generation 1's lore.
and in that case, it is a pretty cute movie.

so that was welcome to monster high, without too many spoilers, i can review all the mh movies at a later date.
fun fact this movie has like absolutely no backing track.
now lets get into electrified. . .
this is my favourite of the two movies !!
btw didn't mention in but that blue guy? raythe??? my favourite addition to g2, i just love him so much, he's so cute and goofy.
electrfied is my favourite of these two movies, it is so absurd, so crazy, that i cannot describe it in a normal way.
in electrified, the plot is basically clawdeen wants to open a botique / salon ( it is more like a salon + botique, but i think bootique is more marketable so they went with it ) and moanica, the zombie girl from the first movie, doesn't like that.
also frankie and twyla r sapphic
i don't have these movies legally so getting images is hell and i had to google a lot
just trust that they were sapphic heavily up to the film's final moments.
the very plot of monster high electrified can be summed up like this
frankie gives like to a new species of monster.
i will properly review these when i have a chance.
but i just wanted to provide some background.

literally everybody looks amazing, and i think this dress would be cute on g3 lagoona !!
i love this ddeuce so much. . . BUT WHY ISN'T HE WEARING GLASSES

she's not my favourite, i can admit that, but i still realyl love her moon phase dress, again feels like the blueprint for g3.
she was not so amazing. . . but again, the bandages on the legs, definitely the blueprint / basis for g3.
she is significantly more fashionable than abbey however, who was in this line but not even in this movie.
imo its kind of a win that she's the only truly clownish looking one out of the bunch, cleo still looks good, she just isn't my favourite.
clawdeen still loosk good but she isn't my favourite.
everybody else is literally drop dead gorgeous.
i just wish they didn't have molded on gloves, but that has ALWAYS been standard mh practice, g1 did it all the time.
with all this praise being said i can't help but point out similarities to previous lines;
these dresses feel very similiar !! also fun fact, g3 also did a heel in all pink with a little black heart in the new line ( leaked a little awhile ago, i believe back in feb or jan, maybe even earlier actually bc i remember we heard about listings in like november ) monster ball
i personally am here for the inspiration from one of my favourite mh lines ever !!
anyways that was it, i have a ghoulfriend who's been waiting roughly two hours to call me, sooo i'm gonna go !!
