Making a bunny hat!

I'm trying to make a crochet bunny hat from basically scratch with only help from a pattern for the base. It's a cute lil striped hat that's gonna have long and floppy ears. I don't have the ears done yet, but the hat itself is pretty much done. I don't know how it'll turn out, but I'll keep ya updated. It got me curious to know, how many of you have made patterns of your own? I'd love to know. Ik it's not that hard, but it is time consuming and tedious so...
