Do you mean the ones made with two large hexagons joined? If you look up 'crochet hexagon cardigan' on youtube a couple tutorials show up. The Snugglery has a video and a written blog to go with it too!
You're not stupid, sometimes it just takes a few tries to get it right, and not all tutorials make sense, especially for crochet. I'm sure you can do it!
