Spanish cyrillic alphabet.

Notes

  • This alphabet uses letters from Serbian, Ukrainian, Belarussian and Russian. Is in part based on the Moldovan cyrillic alphabet because both Spanish and Moldovan/Romanian are romance languages (this is the main reason why this writing system lacks of accent marks apart from not being common to use them in cyrillic).
  • The conjunction "y" is written as "и" instead of "й".

The alphabet

а - a
б - b
в - v
г - g
ґ - h
д - d
е - e
з - z
и - i
й - y
к - k, qu, c (before a, o, u)
л - l
м - m
н - n
њ - ñ
о - o
п - p
р - r
с - s / x (at the start of a word: xilófono -> силофоно)
т - t
у - u
ф - f
х - j
ц - c (before e and i)
ч - ch
ш - sh (loanwords)
ў - w (loanwords)

Diphthongs

кз - x
гв - gü/gu (before a, o, u)
ль - ll

Sample text

Update 06/11/23

  • H is Ґ and J is Х again.

Update 03/09/23

  • H is now Х and J is now Ј. I decided to remove Һ completely since it had a turkic origin rather than slavic.
  • Removed Э because it didn't had a real reason to be there, I just included it to make the alphabet look more cyrillic.
  • Added Ц to make the /θ/ sound before E and I. This for realism purposes, because in old spanish the letter C followed by E or I used to make the /ts/ sound. Also because the letter C is the equivalent of Ц in slavic languages that use the latin alphabet.
