Shelly Log 1 

I love writing these blogs. I have never really been into keeping a diary but something about this site and the old internet aesthetics makes it feel more secure? Probably because there are no ads and probably no one stealing my data. 

ANYWAY

I've been a proud turtle owner for the last 6 years. My aquatic turtle Shelly has been the light of my life fr. She is the most gentle and energetic turtle I've met. Most people associate turtles with being slow or having aggressive biting habits but Shelly is the exact opposite, she's basically a dog in turtle form. I've been worried about her health recently, specifically her eating habits and behaviour. She's very active but does not enjoy playing with any toys, she also doesn't enjoy eating vegetables. I'm experimenting with different ways to feed/entertain her to combat this. This week I got her 5 guppies to chase around and eat, I have never fed her live food before since it makes me feel guilty (I used to own fish). Nevertheless, I put them in her tank. MUCH TO MY SURPRISE the next morning they had all disappeared. This was odd since Shelly wasn't showing any interest towards them. One of two things must have happened: 1) the fish somehow got into the filter, or 2) Shelly was so lazy that she waited for the fish to sleep so she could eat them. DAMN IT!!! Guess I'll have to find other ways to encourage Shelly to play. I feel really bad for the guppies now, if I knew that they would only last for 1 day I wouldn't have gotten them. Shelly basically reenacted the Predator movie.
