im creating a github repository of "benign" snippets. basically just plain text that has been encoded so people can practice cyberchef, remunex, etc without the risk of infection

Probably naively, I was convinced that the Mac had such cool security systems that no malware would do anything. Then my laptop started to run slowly, heat up a lot, programmes froze, some applications wouldn't open. In short, a complete failure. Probably only thanks to this popular tutorial on setapp I first of all realised that it was a virus and then tried to deal with the problem as quickly as possible. Even MacOS was not as resilient as I thought it would be.
